Learn how to use the custom menu function in WordPress to create advanced navigation pointing at posts, pages, custom post types, and archives.
- [Instructor] Throughout this chapter we've added…a bunch of new advanced features to our Intranet site.…The problem is, as of right now we can't actually…get to any of these new features,…because there's no navigation.…And even if the theme we were using had…automatic navigation displayed,…that navigation would not include any of our categories,…it wouldn't include our FAQs, it wouldn't include…our custom posts types, or anything else,…it would just list out the pages that we've built.…So in this movie, I want to show you how…I've structured all the content on my site…so it's easy to navigate, and how we can create…a custom menu that allows a visitor to the Intranet site…to get to the content they need right away.…
I'll also show you how to manipulate…how WordPress handles data on the back end,…so we get more information on the front end…when we use built in features.…The first thing I need to do is create the menu itself.…And here it's a good idea to remind yourself…of the information architecture of the site.…
