Layout out a plan for how you will manage the content of a site before you build it makes the job of actually building it easier. - [Narrator] Just like a regular website,…an intranet site is a tool in constant flux…and the content that goes on the site…will change over time.…Even so we can make some decisions…and educated guesses about what types…of content will be added…and how to support these types of content.…When we use WordPress we can map these content types…to existing features and extended features…and functions within WordPress itself.…For Radio Willington I've mapped…each type of content to WordPress…so I know what I need to do…and what I need to build.…First up, production resources…will be a custom post type,…so they live on their own in admin…and don't mix in with the blog.…
I'll use the standard categories…and tags to organize these resources…and link them to different blog posts and so on.…And provide links to the different sections…in the main menu and on a custom landing page.…I can do all this using a plugin…without writing any code.…The staff directory should piggy back…off the existing user management system…in WordPress rather than create…
