WordPress relies on the 3rd party Gravatar service for user profile images. If you need a local solution for profile images, the Profile Picture plugin is what you need.
- [Instructor] The WordPress user manager…is great for managing users on the back ends,…we can control who has access and what they can do,…but it has no front end capability.…That means we can't display these profiles…on the front end of the site,…and if anyone wants to edit their own user profile,…they have to go to the back end.…That's not really functional for an internet site,…you want user editing to happen on the front end.…And, we also want to build a staff directory on the site,…and that can be done using the information…collected by the user manager.…Over the next couple of movies,…we'll set all this up using a couple of different plugins.…
The first thing we need to do is create a new user.…You can do that either by going to the WordPress toolbar…and selecting new, and then user,…or by going to the back end,…going to users, and then add new.…Here, we can get the standard WordPress user registration,…we need to give the user a name.…They have to have an email address.…This email address will be used…
