The Drop Cap effect enlarges the first letter of the first word in a paragraph, which adds an interesting style to the start of a paragraph. This video shows how to add a drop cap, how to remove it, and how to change the size and font used for the drop cap letter.
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at a nice…text formatting option called Drop Cap.…I want to apply this Drop Cap effect…to the first paragraph here,…so I'm just going to click to place my cursor…somewhere in that paragraph.…I could select the word or the entire paragraph,…it really doesn't matter, the only important thing,…is that my cursor is somewhere in that paragraph.…Then I'll go to the Insert ribbon,…and I'm looking for this Drop Cap button.…When I click on that it opens up this menu.…And I'm just going to choose Dropped.…Click on that, and we can see it has been applied.…
And that's really all it takes.…You get this nice effect,…where the first letter of the paragraph…is bigger than the others.…This is something that you see a lot…in the first paragraph of a chapter of a book.…But there are a few nice options…that you might want to look at.…I still have the effect here,…but I'm going to go back to the Insert ribbon,…back to the Drop Cap button,…and this time I'm going to go to Drop Cap Options.…You could choose to do this before…
