This video shows a few techniques for selecting text more effectively. It shows how to select large blocks of text, how to select multiple items at the same time, and how to select full words more easily.
- [Instructor] Selecting text in Microsoft Word…is a pretty simple core thing.…Just place your mouse cursor on one side of the text,…click and hold the mouse button down,…drag across it, then let go,…and now that chunk of text is selected.…But there are a handful of other techniques…that you can use to select text more efficiently.…Here's a quick one,…you can select an individual word…just by double-clicking on it.…So if I double-click here,…that word is instantly selected, pretty handy.…Now you might think that dragging…to select a word is pretty easy,…but sometimes, especially when I'm trying to move fast,…I find that placing my cursor…perfectly on one side of a word…then dragging to the other side of that word…is kind of fiddly and takes more time than I want,…especially on smaller screens.…
Now here's a similar feature.…This line refers to the campus in Denver, Colorado.…I want to change that to Boston, Massachusetts.…So I just want to select those two words…and quickly delete them.…So instead of placing my cursor…
