- [Instructor] In this week's Word tip, I'd like to show you how to size and place objects on your page with precision. We're going to do it with this document, if you have the exercise files, Tech Connect090. If you don't, you can follow along with one of your own documents. Down at the bottom of page one here, you can see we have a couple of paragraphs, and we want to insert an object, let's say an image. And we want it to be right where our cursor's flashing here, in front of the word, Just three short years ago. We can click there, and checking out the ruler, it looks like it's around the eight-inch mark. That doesn't take into consideration we have margins. So there are some tricks to get this image that we're about to place precisely positioned. First, let's go up to Layout. Next, we'll go to Margins and click Custom Margins. We're only going here to see what the margins are. Notice it's a half inch on the top, bottom, left, and right, so we'll click OK. On an eight and a half…
