Get fancy with drop caps

- [Instructor] Have you ever opened up a storybook, maybe even a novel, where the very first word in the very first paragraph has an oversized first character kind of sunken into the paragraph or out here in the left-hand margin? It's called a drop cap. People have asked me, "How do I create that in Microsoft Word?" That's going to be this week's Word tip. And if you have the exercise files, you can open up Tech Connect083 to follow along with me or work with one of your own documents. All you need to do to add the drop cap is click anywhere inside the paragraph where it needs to appear. Next, you'll go up to the Insert tab. And it's from here, we go to the right-hand side in the Text group on the ribbon to find the Add a Drop Cap drop-down button. Give it a click. You'll see None is selected by default, but there are two options for drop caps, dropped inside the paragraph or in the margin. Just hover over these, and you can see a nice real-time preview of what that's going to look…
