- [Instructor] There may be times when you need to save your Word document back to an older version of Microsoft Word. For example, if you're sharing your document with others, you're not sure if they've upgraded to newer versions of Microsoft Word, you'll want to save it to an older version to guarantee everyone no matter what version of Word they're working with will be able to open your file, see it, even maybe work on it. And perhaps you're just taking your own document to another computer that doesn't have the latest version of Microsoft Word. That's another scenario where you might want to use Compatibility Mode. That's what we're going to explore in this week's Word Tip. We're gonna do it with this file. If you have the exercise files, open up Leaf and Mortar brochure 062. If you don't have the exercise files, no problem, you can work with one of your own files. Notice the extension though is docx. That's the xml-based version of Word documents that was introduced by Word 2007.…
