If you add lots of pictures to a document, the file size of that document can get very large. This video shows how to compress pictures in a document to bring it down to a more manageable file size.
- [Instructor] Text based documents like Word files,…are generally pretty small.…They don't take up a lot of space on your hard drive.…But if you have a lot of pictures in the document,…the size can get bigger.…Fortunately, there's a way to compress large images…so they take up less space.…I want to take a look at this document,…but before I open it up,…I want to right click on it and choose Properties.…Or on a Mac, you can right click on it and choose Get Info.…And then you can see the size of that file.…This is 9.3 megabytes.…And that's generally fine to send as an email attachment.…
It's not huge, but it's a lot bigger…than most Word documents.…Let's open it up and take a look.…So I'll double click on it.…So this file is pretty big,…because there are a lot of pictures in it.…There's a picture here.…I see another picture here.…And as we scroll through the document,…there's lots of other pictures.…And if you have a document with even more pictures,…the file size would just keep getting bigger.…So let's see what we can do to shrink this file down.…
