- [Instructor] When we use mail merge in Word, we work our way across the ribbon starting here at the left, so we already began with start mail merge. I know that, because letters is already selected. Our next choice is to select recipients. One quick note, if you've used the step by step mail merge wizard in order versions of Word, it's still here. And for simple mail merges, you can fire this up and it will walk you through the six steps to do a simple mail merge. That's not what we're going to do, though. We're going to go on to select recipients, and we have three choices. And I think of these as being in reverse order of usefulness. The most useful choice, at the bottom, then the center, and finally, if all else fails, I guess I'll type a new list. Let me talk to you briefly about each of these.
