In this video, you can learn how to add citations to a document by first inserting placeholders, then returning to those spots to update the citation, and finally create a bibliography that automatically lists your citations.
- [Instructor] When you're writing documents…here in Microsoft Word…and you're referencing other materials,…could be books, journals, websites, for example,…documents from websites,…you want to make sure that you're citing those…and giving credit where credit is due,…and then list them all in a bibliography…at the end of your document.…That's what we're going to do in this week's Word Tip.…We'll do it with this file.…If you have the Exercise Files, open up DBAssignment 055.…As we scroll through this, we're writing up a report,…perhaps it's a school report,…and we are referencing other materials,…we want to make sure we cite them.…
So, let's say, at the end of this first paragraph,…we want to cite a book authored…by Hubert and VanMeter in 2014.…Well, in this case, we want to add the citation.…Now, here's a little trick.…You could go in and add all of the information…into the reference or you can simply mark this spot…and come back to it later to fill in the information,…do it all at once.…That's what we're going to do here.…
