A skin is like a “frame” that surrounds the topic content and navigation for an online output. Learn about skin concepts in general and the two types of skins that you can create, the traditional “tripane” skin and the newer “topnav.”

So the topic itself, this,…is controlled by the style sheet, the CSS,…and the tables CSS.…We can also have a breadcrumb trail above the topic.…The You Are Here, maybe a header above the topic.…Maybe a footer below the topic.…The breadcrumb trail, the header,…and footer are controlled by the master page.…Everything else, mainly this toolbar pane…and this navigation pane are controlled by the skin.…
Flare can create two different types of skins.…They're called the tripane and top navigation or Top Nav.…So what you see here is an example of the tripane.…
