Join Jesse Liberty for an in-depth discussion in this video tsconfig, part of Developing with Visual Studio Code.
- [Instructor] We're going to use TypeScript to illustrate a number of features in Visual Studio code. But to do so, we need a TypeScript json.config file. You can find one in the documentation and let's scroll down this page and you'll find an area called tsconfig.json. Just within this area you'll find a simple tsconfig.json. We're going to go into that code block and mark it and copy it.
That's now in our clipboard. Let's return to Visual Studio code and create our first new file. So we'll go to the File menu and we'll say New File. You can see that the shortcut in Command N on the Mac. Control N on Windows. So we'll click that and we'll drop in the code that we just copied. All we need to do now is to save this file. So we'll say Command S.
And I'm in my code directory which is where I want to be. And I'm going to name this json.config and save it. And that's all I need to do to be able to work with TypeScript.
