Windows VPN types

- [Instructor] Microsoft Windows comes with many different VPN types. Let's talk about the different ones and their advantages and disadvantages. The first would be Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol, and this is the easiest of all VPNs to set up, but it's also the least secure. It's on by default after installing the routing and remote access role on a Windows server. It's mostly blocked by hotels and public corporate locations due to lack of security and the heavy traffic it creates. So if you're deploying Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol, also known as PPTP, then you may have a lot of issues when you send your users out to hotels and restaurants. The next one would be IKEv2, or Internet Key Exchange 2, and it's a great VPN type for slow or unreliable connections because it doesn't require you to be authenticated every time you disconnect. It's fairly difficult to set up on the server side, but trouble-free once it's going.…
