Windows 10 Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, and Windows 10 S are different editions. This video explains the differences between Windows 10 S and other editions.
- [Instructor] Separate from the different versions of Windows 10 there are also a few different editions. Different configurations of Windows for different types of users which sale at different prices. So let's identify which edition you have. For that we'll need to go into settings. So I'll click on the start button in the bottom-left corner to open the start menu. Then I'll click on the gear button to go to settings. Here in settings I need to go to the category labeled system. Then on the sidebar on the left here I'll scroll down and go to the subcategory labeled about. Then on this page I'll scroll down and look for this line labeled edition. You can see that I'm running Windows 10 Home. So if you have Windows 10 Home, Pro, or Enterprise this course will work for you 100%. Now there is one place where I mention the difference between those editions but it's a small difference and I will point it out when the time comes. But there is a more limited edition of Windows called Windows 10 S. This is a special edition of Windows designed for extra security. Windows 10 S will not allow you to install new software that you download from the web or install from a disk or installation drive. You can only install software from the Microsoft app store if you're using Windows 10 S. So when you get to that one movie in this course on installing software from the web that one movie is not going to work for you if you have Windows 10 S. With that in mind everything else in this course is valid for everybody using Windows 10 with the May 2019 update.
