- Thanks for joining me for this quick look at the new features in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. I'm Nick Brazzi. In July 2015, Windows 10 was released. Then, in August 2016, the Anniversary Update came out, which changed the user interface a little bit, and introduced a bunch of specific new tools and features. This course will introduce you to the most important of those new features. We'll start with a look at some general interface changes. There's really nothing huge here, but there are a few buttons, panels, and menus that look and function differently in the Anniversary edition.
Then we'll get into significant changes in a few of the bundled apps and tools. The Edge web browser now supports extensions, which are small pieces of software that can additional functionality in a web browser. Cortana, which is the voice operated personal assistant tool has also been updated with a few important new features. There are new commands available, you can operate Cortana when the screen is locked, and you can use Cortana to get alerts on your computer from your mobile phone. Then there's the new Ink Workspace, which introduces new features designed to work with a pen stylus.
So, let's jump in and see how these new features work in the Windows 10 Anniversary edition.
