Join Dan Gookin for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of Troubleshooting Common PC Issues for Users.
- This course is specific to the PC which is any desktop or laptop computer hardware that runs the Windows 10 operating system. And yes, this course is also specific to that operating system. I assume that you have some basic computer knowledge but nothing sophisticated is required. In this course I'll show you how to access various tools in Windows and locate some programs that might not be that obvious to the casual user. So you don't need anything extra for this course beyond those tools that Windows 10 provides.
These tools include the Settings app as well as the Control Panel. Both of which work together, though in Windows 10 the Settings app is the preferred way to control the system. I'll also show you the Windows recovery menu which is accessed as the PC starts. Some solutions in this course use the command prompt window which harkens back to the PCs' early text mode days. These may seem like mysterious tools but they're useful to the troubleshooting process. Now together let's troubleshoot common PC issues.
