Explore how to use the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) background task API in development. Learn about background tasks, triggers, and conditions, and review examples of how and when they should be used.
- [Instructor] So let's say you created the coolest app in the world, packed with all kinds of features and services, and since you're using the Universal Windows Platform, it adapts and scales perfectly across tablets, phones, and Xbox, and even a HoloLens, but no app is meant to be open all day every day and no user sits at their computer 24 by seven by 365. Most users only want to know what matters when it happens or simply want a quick status of information when they kick off a process at a specific interval like an hourly weather forecast.
The ability to process information in the background is another area where the Universal Windows Platform really shines. I'm Scott J. Peterson, and this is Mastering the Universal Windows Platform Background Tasks.
