Verify Edge mail flow

Verify Edge mail flow

Now that I’ve setup my Edge subscription, and got my Edge infrastructure in place I want to validate that configuration, and make sure that I can send mail from the internet into my exchange organization, and all that mail flow is working properly, but the thing is I’m working in a lab environment. I don’t actually have another mail system that I can test this from, so what I’m going to do is I’m going to simulate this from an external machine. That’s what I’m sitting on here, and I’m just going to tell them that to port 25 on the Edge server send the mail inbound, and then look at that from a client perspective and see what happens. So I’ll telnet over to edge.interfacettlabs.com on port 25. Going to send my hello message and mail from mike@hotmail.com. My recipient will be the administrator, and then in my message my data will be, subject testing edge config. The message has been queued for delivery. Let’s go into the inside network and see if this message actually gets delivered…
