Understanding the computer's login account
- [Instructor] If you're setting up your Windows computer for the very first time, you should decide what type of user account you will use to log in to your computer. You will need some account, a username and a password, which you will use to log in to your computer. If you've already had the computer for a while, then you already have a user account, and if you've been assigned a computer by your employer, then you probably already have an account set up there. This account is something that you'll hear me talk about a lot in this course, so it's good to get familiar with it early. So first, what is this user account all about? Well, on one hand, it's the security barrier for your computer. When you set up your computer's account, you establish a username and a password, so if anybody picks up your computer, they will need to type in that password before they could use the computer. Another reason for accounts is that you can set up multiple user accounts on the same computer. So…
