- Well, you may be ready now to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10, but is your computer or tablet ready? There are certain system requirements that need to be met to accommodate Windows 10. We'll talk about some of them now. For example, the processor in your computer or your tablet needs to be 1GHz or faster. Also, for Random Access Memory on a 32-bit machine, you'll need at least 1GB, 2GB for a 64-bit machine. Also, you'll need some space on your hard drive, 16GB of free space on a 32-bit PC, and if you're on a 64-bit PC, you'll need at least 20GB of free space.
Also, your graphics card needs to be DirectX 9 or later with the WDDM 1.0 driver installed to accommodate Windows 10. Your display needs to be able to hit 800 x 600 minimum resolution, preferably higher. And lastly, if you're upgrading from Windows 7, you'll need to ensure that Service Pack 1 is installed before you'll be able to upgrade to Windows 10. In fact, you won't even see the icon in the bottom right-hand corner to install Windows 10 if you haven't installed Service Pack 1.
These are some of the system requirements you'll need to meet to be able to migrate from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
