Join Dan Gookin for an in-depth discussion in this video Solution: Folder organization, part of Windows 10: Organizing Files and Folders.
- [Instructor] Here is my solution to the challenge.…First, click the View tab and choose Large Icons…so that you can see all the files…in their large icon view, which shows a preview.…So I'll create the Color Shapes folder.…And then I select and move in those color shape files.…So click the first one and press and hold the Control key,…and Control-click the rest,…and drag them into the folder.…I repeat the same process for the Plain Shapes folder.…
Control-click.…Move 'em in.…If I open the Color Shapes folder,…I see the color shapes files.…Likewise, when I open the Plain Shapes folder,…I see those files as well.…Now, I confess, this may be a silly example,…but consider if the Doodles folder were filled…with dozens or even hundreds of images.…By placing specific image types into properly named folders,…you can more easily locate…and access those files in the future.…That's one of the key points of file organization.…
