- [Voiceover] Hi, and welcome to Migrating from Windows 8 and 8.1 to Windows 10. I'm David Rivers. Because Windows 8 represented such a radical change from Windows 7, many users were hesitant to upgrade to Windows 8, or even 8.1. Turns out, many of those who did upgrade to Windows 8 were not entirely happy with the new interface, and even wanted to go back. Well, now along comes Windows 10, and it's a more familiar-looking and working version of Windows. It's reminiscent of Windows 7, but also includes optional Windows 8 features and functionality.
In this course, I'll show you how to ensure your computer is ready to accept this upgrade before we explore some of the tasks you'll need to take care of before performing the actual update to Windows 10. We'll explore different ways to upgrade, and once the update is complete, there may be additional tasks to complete in Windows 10. We'll explore some of those as well. So if you're ready, let's get you migrating from Windows 8 or 8.1 to Windows 10.
