(inspirational music) - Hello, and welcome to the IT Help Desk Beginners Course where you will learn the essentials that every help desk technician should know. My name is Jason Revere and along with my co-insructor, Mariecor Agravante, I'll be leading you through the course. I began my career by receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Nolan Security after serving six years in the U.S. Navy. When I transisitoned out of the military and entered civilian life, I was an IT educator. Currently, I have a managerial role for a managed service provider where I manage numerous customer networks ranging from a five person office to medium sized businesses of up to 500 employees.
There I provide desktop, server, network, and security support as well as take the lead on all project based contracts. My co-instructor, Mariecor Agravante, is seasoned in customer service relations with her experience in publishing, visual design, and social media marketing. By the end of this course you will gain conceptual knowledge on our best duties including customer service best practices principles. You likewise have the knowhow to accurately provide technical support to customers, as well as troubleshoot basic computer and network issues.
We'll be teaching the importance of customer service standards and how to impact a customers' experience. You'll also receive hands-on network administration and technical support basis, such as knowing the difference between a work group and a Windows domain. You will even learn to troubleshoot throughout the course entirety.
