- The Exchange management console has tools to manage Active Synch devices, as well as the shell, of course, and the control panel, the web-based control panel. But let's start off by looking at what's in EMC. I'm logged in as the administrator for my Windows 7 machine and EMC. Under organization configuration, I'm going to go to Client Access. Notice that we've got a default active synch policy out there. So this policy is going to define some basic settings for each active synch user as they make a partnership with their mobile device. Let's create a new policy so you can see some of the settings that are out there. I'm going to click on New Exchange Active Synch, policy, under the Actions pane, and I'll just call this one Employees. This option to allow non-provisionable devices means that, let active synch users connect where not all of these setting can be defined. So you might have one that's newer, where these policies cannot be effected, or even older. That's what that means…
