- Welcome to Demystifying Windows 10. Universal Apps and Cross Platform Development. I'm Walt Ritscher. This is a course where you will explore two distinct areas of Windows 10 that enable you to use your existing developer skills to build applications that run on Windows. I'll start by exploring the Universal Windows Platform. This platform allows you to build a single code base and run it across the huge Windows hardware ecosystem. You'll be able to target Xbox One, tablets, Windows desktops and phones, and even embedded devices also known as IOT devices.
Next, I'll look at how Visual Studio can leverage Xamarin or Apache Cordova to build cross-platform mobile apps that run on iOS, Android and Windows phones. You'll get a look at the Windows 10 iOS Bridge, which simplifies porting existing iOS apps to run on Windows. Finally, you'll see how to use the Windows Bridge for Android to reuse your Android app code to make a Windows phone app. If you're ready, let's get started.
