- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to show you…how to customize the Dock in El Capitan.…Your Dock is located at the bottom of the screen…and has a series of icons.…You can add icons to your Dock,…change their size, make them grow,…disappear, and more.…This will give you more control of your workflow,…and make things more accessible.…Many of these icons I don't use,…so I'll want to remove them.…Note that removing them from your Dock…does not actually uninstall them from your computer.…It just removes them from the Dock.…You can remove icons from your Dock in two ways.…Let's start with the first way,…which is just simply dragging the icon up…until you see the word Remove appear next to the icon.…
I'm going to go ahead and remove the Maps icon,…and just simply click and drag until you get…about several inches up to the screen,…you see the word Remove, and let go,…and then it is removed from the Dock.…The second way to remove an icon from the Dock…is to do a right-click or secondary click.…Reminder, you do this by holding down…
