- As we move into more advanced Windows 7 Support topics, remember Windows 7 networking. The network stack supports both IP version four and IP version six. We've also introduced the concepts of Link Layer Topology Discovery, some of the enhanced capabilities with DNS resolution, etcetera, as they were implemented in Windows 7. While going further, one of the more advanced topics that's here to talk about in Windows 7 is Automatic Private IP Addressing, referred to as APIPA. And so, what is APIPA? How does it work in Windows 7? Well, I'm gonna go to my Windows 7 desktop here, and I'm gonna navigate to my Control Panel. So I'm going, Start Pearl, Control Panel, in my Category View I'm gonna open Network and Internet. I'm gonna open my Network and Sharing Center, and over here I'm gonna change my adapter settings.
