Join Scott Peterson for an in-depth discussion in this video Agenda, part of Developing UWP Apps: 10 Voice, Speech, and Cortana.
- So let's take a look at what we're going to cover in this session. First we're going to go over some basic voice and speech concepts using the Universal Windows Platform, and talk about some common scenarios. Then we're going to touch on two aspects of voice and speech in UWP which are the speech recognizer, and speech synthesis. Now we covered speech synthesis earlier in this series, during the multimedia and printing session, but I just want to do a review of that, especially so that you understand that there's a difference between speech recognition, and speech synthesis, and then we're going to go back into the tagger app we've been working on in this series, and actually integrate speech recognition.
Then we're going to jump into one of my favorite topics and talk fairly heavily about Cortana. We'll review some Cortana concepts, talk about the Cortana logic flow, talk about some requirements for Cortana integration, and then flip back over into our tagger app, and actually integrate Cortana voice commands in our app experience. We'll talk about something that's a little bit of a bonus with Cortana, this idea of personal assistant actions, and then we'll flip back over to Visual Studio one more time, and look at some advanced Cortana scenarios.
And as always, we'll finish up with some great next steps.
