Join Scott Peterson for an in-depth discussion in this video Agenda, part of Developing UWP Apps: 2 Basic Controls and Patterns.
- [Instructor] Let's take a look at what we're going to cover in this session. First off, we're going to go in and review a number of the more common controls you'll typically leverage when designing your Universal Windows Platform application, and talk about different ways that we can use the controls. One of the cool things about UWP controls is that we can really access the properties methods and events of the controls in a wide variety of ways. Then, we'll step into some of the concepts around control patterns and patterning, this idea of combining controls, and take a look at some of the more common scenarios that you'll want to employ when designing and developing your UWP application.
Then, finally, we'll finish up with one of the most powerful concepts in UWP and XAML development, which is the idea of data templates and control templates, how we can really create controls that look, act, and feel exactly the way that we intend for virtually any scenario that we'll run into in our application. And, as always, we'll finish up with some next steps, some great things to do or try to extend the experiences you've learned in this session.
