Join Scott Peterson for an in-depth discussion in this video Agenda, part of Developing UWP Apps: 1 Layout and Navigation.
- [Instructor] So here's what we're going to cover in this session. First, we're going to talk about some adaptive UI concepts. Controls in the Universal Windows Platform is going to be covered in another session, but we're going to look at the layout controls. And then we're going to go in and demonstrate using some of the various layout controls. And what I'm calling layout panels. Things like grids, and a canvas, and stack panels. Then we're going to get into this concept of adaptive layouts and scaling, where UWP really goes crazy. And the way that we can attach these adaptive layouts to visual states and adaptive triggers.
Things that are newer in the Universal Windows Platform. Then we'll go in and take a look at how we can actually create an adaptive layout using UWP. Then we're going to switch gears a little bit. These two things are very heavily connected. Layout and navigation. So we're going to look at navigation basics, and really the way that we navigate in a Universal Windows Platform app. And then we'll walk through laying out a very clean application layout and design that'll serve as the framework for future sessions. Then of course, we're going to finish it up, as always, with some next steps.
So let's go in and take a look at some adaptive UI concepts that we'll be covering in this session.
