Join Scott Peterson for an in-depth discussion in this video Agenda, part of Developing UWP Apps: 4 Networking and Storage.
- [Instructor] As with any topic in this series, we could probably spend hours and hours on any given subject. The topic of networking and storage is no exception. What we're going to do in this mastering series is introduce what I consider to be some of the most common scenarios and the most common topics that developers care about in the areas of networking, web services, and storage, and then we'll continue to build on these concepts as we go through this series. Here's what we're going to cover in this session. We're going to walk through some basic networking concepts and some of the common protocols and scenarios you'll run into as developers.
And then we're going to take a look at getting your UWP app ready for networking. Then we're going to do the same thing with web services, walk through some pretty common scenarios, make sure your UWP app is ready for accessing web services, access some web services, including the cool Computer Vision API from Microsoft's Cognitive Services, and then we're going to talk about file and storage concepts. There's some unique aspects of the way that files, folders, and local roaming and temporary storage are handled in Universal Windows Platform apps.
And we're going to cover those and give some great examples to get you on your way. And then, as always, we'll finish up with some next steps.
