- [Male Voice] Another command line tool that I think you should make sure that you are familiar with is the ping command. Okay, I mentioned in another video how ping is a very simple but yet powerful tool. Now before I show you ping, I am on Windows Server 2019, I'm in a Command Prompt window, let me go ahead and type in ipconfig first, cause I want to see what my own IP address is, and what my default gateway is. And the reason why is because, in the troubleshooting methodology video I talked about the idea of doing a series of pings, and that's really kind of what I want to show you here. and then type in either your own IP address, and I'm getting successful replies. I also, instead of doing my own IP address, I could do 127.0.0.1, which is the same thing in the sense that I am pinging local host, I am pinging myself.
