- [Presenter] If you're new to Microsoft Windows Server operating systems and you want to understand Windows Server 2019, I know that, for me, I find it helpful to understand a little bit of the history behind its predecessors to kind of help understand maybe a little bit about how we got here today. And if you're not new, well, then this might be fun for you to kind of reminisce through the history. Maybe remember some of these versions that you may have forgotten about. I know I had fun as I was putting this together. So this all started way back in the early 1990s, and Microsoft came up with the idea of something called Windows NT. And NT at the time stood for New Technology, even though no one really ever called it that. They just called it NT. Now the first server version that they had was something called Windows NT 3.1. And this was released back in July of 1993. It had only one server version, and that was called Advanced Server. And many people really didn't consider this to…
