Windows Server Gateway
- Windows Server Gateway, also referred to as the RAS gateway, or Remote Access Server gateway, is a software-based, multi-tenant, Border Gateway Protocol capable router in Windows Server. The RAS gateway multi-tenant BGP router is designed for Cloud Service Providers, or CSPs, and enterprises that host multiple tenant virtual networks using Hyper-V network virtualization. Server Gateway now supports three types of site to site connections. Internet Key Exchange version two site to site Virtual Private Networking, Layer 3 VPN and Generic Route Encapsulation tunnels or GRE. GRE is not an encrypted tunnel and has no security unlike the first two options. You can create gateway pools of different types. Gateway pools contain many instances of RAS gateway and route network traffic between physical and virtual networks.
