Join Scott M Burrell for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of Windows Server 2016: Active Directory Certificate Services.
- [Narrator] As we begin this dive into Active Directory Certificate Services, there are a few things you should know. You should be familiar with the installation of a Windows Server, and the tools to add roles from the Server Manager. It would also be helpful to have at least a foundation in Active Directory and Group Policy objects as you begin this course. And I wanted you to know that all of the workstations and servers that you see in these demonstrations, are virtual machines, running in Hyper-V, on a Windows 10 Enterprise workstation.
That means that with enough RAM, and an evaluation copy of Windows Server 2016, you can follow along, or create a scenario of your own to try out the things that you see in this course. And since any learning experience is only as good as what it can do for you, that's exactly what I would encourage you to do. So let's get going.
- Installing root and subordinate certificate authorities
- Revoking certificates
- Configuring an online responder
- Managing certificate templates
- Renewing certificates
- Archiving private keys
- Using smart cards
