Join Ed Liberman for an in-depth discussion in this video What you should know, part of Networking Foundations: Servers.
- [Narrator] Before watching this course, there is exactly one thing that you need to know, and that is that this course was designed for everybody. I designed this foundations course in a way that pretty much anybody who is interested in getting involved with server administration should be able to follow along. Now speaking of following along, while most of the course is concept-based, there are a few demonstrations where I actually go into a server and show you how to do something.
If you wanted to try to follow along, what I can tell you is that you basically just need a computer. The only caveat to that is that one of the demonstrations is how to install an operating system, so you need a blank computer if you're gonna follow along with that. Or you can do it the way I do it here, which is with a virtual machine. So outside of that, there's really nothing else you need to know. And don't worry if you don't have a computer to follow along. Watching me go through the demonstration is really all you need to do.
