- [Narrator] Web Application Proxy is designed to serve as a barrier between the outside world, and web-based resources on the intranet. Sometimes these resources are claims-based applications and other ADFS-aware services, but sometimes there are more simple web applications or just websites. Your organization may have an internal web app that you want to proxy to the extranet, but for the security of the server, you don't want to move it to the DMZ. It isn't a claims-based application, ADFS doesn't even know about it. But, Web Application Proxy can still make this site available by publishing your app, or your site, in simple pass-through mode. Let's take a look at how that works. I have here an IIS Server. It's a member of the Active Directory domain, and it's hosting a simple web application. Okay, it's really just hosting a website.
