Learn how to use a network trace in Message Analyzer to learn about your network usage and the difference it makes for viewing messages as well as packets.
- [Instructor] I've found that some of my test labs…can be a bit sterile in terms of the network activity…and local device traces not showing a lot of activity.…I've used the message analyzer to capture some information…being passed around on my home network…so that we can take a look at sample capture…and the type of information that we can gather.…So let me go ahead and start a new session…here in the message analyzer,…and this time, rather than a live trace,…I'm going to use the data source of files.…
Here I can go ahead and add files…to select the traces that have already been done and saved.…The default save location for the message analyzer…is in the documents folder of the current profile.…Inside the message analyzer directory,…here is the traces folder where those are kept.…And that's where I've stored my network capture…and a USB capture session.…Let's take a look at a network capture…and what we can learn from the information that we collect.…
And once this file is loaded,…with all of the necessary modules to read it,…
