- [Instructor] When it comes to trying to troubleshoot IP addressing or networking-related issues, one of the nice things is that Microsoft gives you quite a few built-in tools, right into the operating system. So, let me take a moment to kind of a command line tool called ipconfig. Ipconfig, interestingly enough, doesn't do what it sounds like it would do. Right, sounds like it would be an IP configuration tool. But the reality is it's but yet as powerful a tool as you're going to have is called Ping. Ping just simply shows whether you have connectivity or not. Okay, there's not a whole lot to it, can't get real fancy with it. But, you know, go ahead and do the Ping command and you can see whether you can make connectivity with another host or not. seeing all the different hops that you make to get from your host to a destination host on a distant network.
