Join Ed Liberman for an in-depth discussion in this video Troubleshooting theory, part of Networking Foundations: Servers.
- [Instructor] When it comes to troubleshooting,…one of the greatest tools that you have at your disposal…is just simply understanding the theory…of how to troubleshoot.…Now, this theory is made up of a series of steps.…You start off by identifying your problem.…You then theorize what may be a cause to the problem.…Test that theory to see if it really is the cause,…figure out, plan, and implement a resolution,…and then test to see if that resolution worked.…
And anywhere along the way, when things don't go…the way you expected them to, so if you test…and it doesn't work, well, then go back, try it again.…So what I want to do here is go through this process…in a little bit more detail.…First, let's talk about identifying the problem.…Start off by questioning your users.…Talk to them.…They're one of your best resources, they'll tell you.…I mean, usually they're the ones that are gonna tell you…there's a problem in the first place.…So learn what the problem actually is.…
What is it that the users can or cannot do…
