- [Instructor] When it comes to troubleshooting issues that you're having with network communication two of the main areas you want to look at are either your IP configuration where you might have something that's been misconfigured or your networking devices. Now before we go any further I want to review one device in particular, which is a device called a router. It's a crucial device in any network, because your IPv4 subnets need to be separated by these routers, because the routers are responsible for passing the packets back and forth between networks. 'Cause remember, by default a computer can only communicate with another computer on the same network, unless you have a router. You put the router on the network and it can pass those packets between the networks. Now the way routers accomplish this is by using something called a routing table. So the routing table on your routers include things like a network destination, which starts off by establishing where does the packet…
