Transferring a FSMO role

- [Narrator] When talking about FSMOs, the first word is flexible, and when we talk about flexibles, because we can move an operations master role from one computer to another, and this is typically what's called transferring a FSMO role. So, I want to demonstrate how you would do that now. To do this, I want to connect to DC-2, and I specifically want to connect to DC-2 because the FSMO roles are currently held by DC-1, and I want to show you how we take another demector, and bring it over. So, let's go there now. Here in the Server Manager, we're going to go up to the tools menu, and I'm going to select Active Directory Users and Computers because this is where we can see the three domain FSMOs. I'm going to right click on landonhotel.local, and select Operations Masters. And you will notice that the RID master is held by DC-1, PDC emulator held by DC-1, and Infrastructure master held by DC-1, but I'm going to take the RID master, and I want to transfer it.
