Switch Embedded Teaming (SET)

- [Instructor] Switch Embedded Teaming is an alternative NIC teaming solution that you can use in environments that include Hyper-V and software defined networking. SET integrates some NIC teaming functionality into the Hyper-V virtual switch. It also allows you to group between one and eight physical Ethernet network adapters into one or more software-based virtual network adapters. These virtual network adapters provide fast performance and fault tolerance in the event of a network adapter failure. We're in a 2019 server running Hyper-V and we're going to pull up PowerShell so we can create our SET. First thing we want to do is we want to see what the names are of our physical adapters. So we'll type get-netadapter and we'll see a list. I would like to use Ethernet 3 and Ethernet 5 because they are both the same type of network interface card and this can avoid problems if you happen to have two of the exact same cards.
