At the end of this video, the student will learn how to examine storage options on Hyper-V on Server 2016 and be able to add or edit the storage they are using. Use storage on Hyper-V to expand and add storage whenever you need it. You can expand or compact drives using a handy wizard tool.
- [Instructor] Hyper-V has many options…when it comes to storage in Server 2016.…And we're going to take a look at each of these options.…So, make sure that the virtual machine…you are about to make changes to is turned off…or the options to make those changes will be grayed out.…Let's right click on our virtual machine…and choose settings.…And from here, we're going to take a look,…and we see that there's an IDE Controller,…an IDE Controller 1, and a SCSI Controller.…By default, our IDE Controller 0…is going to be the drive that starts up the server.…
Our IDE Controller 1 is going to be the drive…that has the DVD or the ISO file mounted.…And the SCSI Controller has nothing currently imaged,…but you can certainly add to it at that point.…Let's start by taking a look…at the hard drive on IDE Controller 0.…You have a few options here.…One option is you can click New…to replace the file that is running…the VHD on the virtual machine.…Another option is you could browse to where that file is…and you could rename it,…
