Site-to-site (S2S) VPN vs. remote access VPN

- [Instructor] In the description of Virtual Private Networks, I mentioned two different scenarios that might use a VPN. The first is referred to as a remote access VPN, and that is when an individual computer needs a secure connection to a private network. The second is called a site-to-site VPN, and that's used to connect detached sites to make one expanded network. Both scenarios take advantage of high speed internet connections to link disconnected branches of a company network together as a single network. In both cases, the concepts we discussed in the last segment apply, one key difference is how the work of authentication encryption and negotiating the connection is distributed. If I want to establish a VPN between my laptop and the corporate network, my computer will have to work directly with the destination firewall.
