Setting an IP address
- In this module, we're gonna look at all of the configuration tasks that we looked at in the last module except we're gonna use PowerShell instead of the ASCONFIG utility. So let's start off by setting that static IP address. But first, notice that up at the title bar I'm running cmd.exe. I need to be running PowerShell. So the first step is going to be to type in powershell and hit Enter. So now we're running PowerShell, and let's clean up the screen a bit. I'm gonna type cd\ to move back up to the root directory and then cls to clear the screen. So the first thing I want to do is look at the current IP configuration, so if I do an ipconfig/all, we can see that here's my network interface. Right now I've enabled DHCP here, and what I want to do is just basically take the existing IP and set it statically. So let's talk about how we would do that.
