- [Instructor] Because DHCP is an unauthenticated protocol you really should take some form of precaution to ensure that only valid clients that are supposed to be on your network are receiving network information from the DHCP server. Now there's a few things we can do as far as settings within the server, so let's take a look at those. And then beyond that, I also want to talk to you about a general idea of how you can help protect your server. So, first I'm going to jump onto DC1 which is a DHCP server running on my network. So here are the Server Manager. I'm going to go up to the Tools menu. And select DHCP. This takes us into the DHCP Manager. And, there's a couple things. One, if I were to go to the properties of IP Version four. Right click Properties. You'll see here that by default there's a box checked that says, Enable DHCP Audit Logging. This writes server activity to a file daily to monitor system performance and troubleshoot service issues. So, I want to be clear that…
