Scripting DFS mapping

- [Instructor] We learned how to setup Distributed File System, both the namespace and the replication, in previous videos. We also discussed how to map drives from the client, but being able to automate this with scripts would be very helpful for our file and storage management capabilities. So let's create a script on our Desktop simply by right-clicking on the Desktop and choose New, and we'll choose Text Document. We're going to call this drivemapping, and we'll open that up and it opens up in our Notepad by default. We're going to type in net use to map our drive, and we're going to go ahead and choose the s drive, although we could choose any drive letter not currently in use, and we'll put in the path to our DFS shared folder, which is widget.internal\dfs, which is the name of our namespace, \shareddata, which is the name of our shared folder, but we may have a problem, and that is that the previous IT administrator may have already mapped the S drive on some computers, and…
