- Now that you have active directory installed, you've got at least 2 domain controllers in your environment. You need to understand how replication works and how we can control replication throughout the environment and when replication is actually going to occur. So in this session, we're going to be looking at a little bit of that topic. Then as we move throughout the different topics we'll be getting in a little bit more advanced concepts of replication. First of all, what is replication? Any time we make a change to our active directory database. Whether we add an object to the database. We delete an object from the database. We change an attribute on an object from the database. When I'm using the term object fairly broad. That could be a computer, a user. It could be a published object like a shared folder object or a printer object. Or it could be a group policy object in the environment. It could be an organizational unit object.
